In short, when it comes to selling your home time is money!
All listings have a shelf life, as time literally eats away at market value by directly affecting 'Perceived" value. 

That's why listings that fail to sell within the first few weeks of being listed either sell considerably below their full potential or not at all. That happens, because buyers' emotions shift from excitement to caution, assuming that there's either something wrong with the home or that it must be overpriced.
